Aluminum Foil

Aluminum foil, also known as aluminium foil, is a thin, pliable sheet of aluminum metal. It's commonly used for wrapping food, lining pans, and various other household and industrial applications due to its versatility and properties.

Composition:
Aluminum foil is typically an alloy of aluminum, with small amounts of other metals like iron and silicon added for strength and puncture resistance.

Thickness:
It's produced in a range of thicknesses, commonly between 0.006 mm and 0.2 mm (6 to 200 μm).

Manufacturing:
Aluminum foil is made by rolling slabs of aluminum into thin sheets, sometimes using two layers simultaneously. The side that comes into contact with the polished steel rollers during the final rolling process becomes shiny, while the other side is dull.

Shiny vs. Dull Side:
The difference in appearance between the shiny and dull sides is due to the manufacturing process and doesn't affect its performance for cooking or wrapping food.
